HDMI Audio
I'm new here, but have been using DisplayLink for a few years.
Recently I connected the HDMI display from DisplayLink to a monitor, however the audio still come from the audio jack rather than via HDMI cables. Is there any software switch that I can use to enable audio over HDMI? |
Hello,
I would need to have details about what product you are using. The make and model will tell me if that's using DisplayLink audio and give me an indication on how the manufacturer configured it. Kind regards, Alban |
HDMI Audio
My device is a Pluggable USB 3.0 (UD3900) Universal Laptop Docking Station. The audio jack is working fine, but the HDMI output from the device does not has audio delivered to the monitor, while other HDMI devices like a digital tuner has audio.

HDMI Audio Problem Resolved
Problem resolved with a simple fix: unplug the audio cable from the 3.5mm jack, the UD3900 is smart enough to redirect audio to HDMI. Please close the case.

Yes, this model implements a feature called headphone privacy.
Some other models can have 2 output jacks: one for headphones and another "line out" which doesn't disable the audio over video when plugged in. |
