I face the same issue with "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process" going up to 40% CPU usage.

if I don't use my mouse or keyboard the cpu usage is 1-2%.

I installed the "8.1_M0_Release_Candidate_8.1.855_Installer", I don't see any improvement.

Unfortunately, I am not as enthusiast as SchiefesFenster !

Good luck for the bug hunt!

Config :
XPS13 9350 with DA200 - 2 x 24 inch screen - one Display Port and one HDMI.
Keyboard USB
Mouse bluetooth MX Master.

Hello,
Could you please go to device manager, then click on the DA200 and then in properties, look for hardware id.
What do you see?
Can you also confirm this is really the DA200 which a USB Type C reversible connector?
Many thanks ,
Alban

hi Alban,

I am out of office now but I could tell u that I don't have USB Type C ... just the usual USB type. So this fix is only for type C version ?

Let me know, if u still need the hw id, I could check it tmr.

Thanks,

The Dell DA200 is a USB-C travel adapter without DisplayPort... And is not using DisplayLink technology either, hence my questions.
You can use the third link in my signature to post the Zip of your log files here so I can look into it. Only employees can download it.
Have a good evening,
Alban

Now your question make sense to me!

I do have a DA200 type C but i don't know if I face the cpu issue. I am not using it often...
However, I am having the issue with the dock version D3100 (i need to confirm the right version... when I get back to the office though)

I got confused with my model, i am sorry about that...

The Dell D3100 has 4K DP and a couple of HDMIs.
Unfortunately we missed the 8.1 M0 boat as packages are under final tests.
Still, if you could post the logs, I'd like to understand why you saw no difference. Moving the mouse is trivial in term of what needs to be sent to the dock.
Good night,
Alban

If you tell me how to make the log, I will do it tmr.

I see two Dell USB3.0 Dock on the device manager.

Both have the same hw id :
USB\VID_17E9&PID_436E&REV_0113&MI_00
USB\VID_17E9&PID_436E&MI_00

If you need anything else, let me know,

Cheers,
Arnaud

Unfortunately, I can't send you the log, IT guys doesn't allow it... I am sorry about that.

Do u have any idea when you will integrate the fix into the new driver for the D3100 ?

Thanks,

That's alright but I cannot give you an idea of when as I don't have an idea of the root cause of the phenomenon you are seeing.
You can ask your IT guy how he fixes stuff without looking at the patient first...
