Hello,

I've been trying to find the answer on multiple forums and threads and I believe I more or less know what's the issue, but perhaps you guys can shed some light on that as well.

I have Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701GXR laptop (https://www.asus.com/Content/ROG-Zephyrus-S-GX701-Studio-Edition/) with GeForce RTX™ 2080 GPU. I wanted to plug two external monitors using Targus USB3 DV4K docking station (https://eu.targus.com/products/usb-c-universal-dv4k-docking-station-with-100w-power-dock190euz). Whenever I want to play any video game, the game becomes laggy. I assume it's because of the docking station graphic card being used. There's no way for me to force the NVDIA GPU to be used, when monitors are plugged through dock.

I found this thread, which gives me an idea why it's not working (https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/9gvjds/are_there_usb_docks_that_can_recognize_internal/) - as one guy pointed out - "USB docks don't work that way. They use their own internal display controller, such as that from DisplayLink. The USB interface is not capable of directly transmitting the display output from the PCs GPU. When you say they only "see" the Intel HD driver"

Next thing I did was to plug the main screen directly to my laptop and only the second, external screen to the dock. That doesn't work either - the game on the main screen runs fine, but the second monitor is very laggy then.

The last thing was to plug both monitors to the laptop - that solves the problem, but what is strange - I need to disable the docking station graphic card. Otherwise, it's all laggy. This are the graphic cards currently installed:

- Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (Enabled)
- NVIDIA GetForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design (Enabled)
- Targus USB3 DV4K DOCK w PD100W

I would like to plug both monitors to an external docking station not directly to PC, and still be able to play video games. Do you know if this is doable with the current Targus docking station? Perhaps I should order one which doesn't have an internal graphic card? Is there anyway basically to have 2+ monitors working with NVIDIA GPU using any docking station?

Thanks
Mat
