DisplayLink won't install on kernel 5.11

DisplayLink installation on kernel 5.11 (latest in Ubuntu Hirsuite, due out in April), fails as evdi-dkms fails to build with this kernel. See this (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evdi/+bug/1917787) Launchpad entry for details...

Fedora 32 Workstation just broke with kernel 5.11.7-100.fc32.x86_64. Rebuilding the RPM fails.

I suspect this will affect any distro running 5.11...

My machine however still wont recognize the displayport screen

Good news that progress is happening. Think I'll wait for the final DisplayLink release before re-installing - I can just about manage with only 2 monitors until then! :-)

Fixed in DisplayLink 5.4... :)

Installed and working on Ubuntu 21.04 (beta) with kernel 5.11
