Hello everyone, i need help with Ubuntu 18.04 boot and DisplayLink drivers.

I have successfully installed the DisplayLink drivers but my monitor does not connect properly at startup in Ubuntu 18.04. If I unplug and plug the usb cable back in, it works!

Has someone some solution for thie issue?

Sad to see this on the second page since Aug without a reply.

I downgraded from Mint 20 to 19.3 to avoid the issues and my dock works when plugged in hot but blank screens on reboot. I'm actively trying to fix it but no luck so far.

The issue is because the way the displays are handled is different from the login screen and after login.

In my case the login screen setup is done by sddm (LXqt) and I ended up editing the startup file /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup to add xrandr commands to activate the display. I your case Ubuntu or other distro may have a different configuration.
