Hi, I do have same issue with my D3100 docking station.
Just on moving mouse I'm getting higher CPU usage, and I'm getting my CPU fan start spinning. While doing just basic things, browsing, reading documents, working in MS Office. I'm using two monitors also.
When my laptop is not connected to the D3100, no issues.

My configuration is:
1. Laptop HP Pavillion 17"
2. Intel i7 - 6700HQ
3. Windows 10 x64 1809, release date November 2018
4. Dell D3100 docking station
5. DisplayLink 9.0.1809.0
6. Connected via USB 3 port

Thanks

I also posted this in another thread, but for Lenovo users suffering from high CPU usage on WUDFHost.exe it might be worth removing the software "Lenovo Quick Optimizer". It seems to have helped a lot, though the issue is not completely resolved for me.

Chiming in too as the same is happening to me again.
Got forced onto 1903 by Microsoft and immediately my WUDFHost.exe is smashing CPU again.

i7-6700 @ 3.40Gz is always bursting to 3.72ghz while idling on the Windows desktop, 17%-20% CPU utilisation just by WUDFHost at idle.
Currently im on Dell 3100 (but I use other DL3000 docks also with same result).

I'm not putting any demands here, I love your products and praise & sell them regularly - keep up the good work. If I can help by pulling logs or anything please let me know.

Another issue I've noticed... once laptop is on the charger, CPU fan and temperature are raising. Probably there is something with the power performance, but there is only one profile in Windows 10 today (latest versions) and that one is set identical for both battery and when on charger.
For some reason, temperature when on charger is boosting.

Not sure if the issue is only with this specific docking type or in general?

Hello,
The thermal profile tends to be different when on battery and externally powered.
I've got that behaviour on my laptop regardless of docking status. Battery mode optimises for longevity and external power for performance.

For this thread, we have created a bug report with Microsoft to get assistance on power management.

Kind regards,
Alban

How are we progressing on this? Is there any feedback from Microsoft?
