flashing screen on 10.13 GM with latest beta DisplayLink driver

Hi, I had the high hope of getting better performance with 10.13 GM and DisplayLink driver but once the driver was installed and connected to second screen, the screen kept flashing and was unusable. I am using Anker usb 3 to HDMI adapter model y-3702, connected through a DVI to HDMI converter to a 22-inch Viewsonic monitor. If I connected to a 27-inch monitor with HDMI input using the Anker adapter, it worked fine.

Was the problem with the DVI to HDMI converter? The 22-inch monitor is an older monitor without HDMI input. It was working before on 10.12 though.
