Rotation was not possible to deliver due to missing functionality of Xserver's modesetting driver used in Ubuntu 14.04. Rotation in X requires working shadow memory, which looks like it's just become available (https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/tree/hw/xfree86/drivers/modesetting/drmmode_display.c) in Xorg 1.17 used by newer distributions.

Note that it is already possible to rotate screens in Chrome OS, which also uses evdi - the same driver.

Please raise this idea at our Support Page (http://support.displaylink.com/) so we can see what the feedback is and how wanted this functionality is.

Cheers,
Michal
