Hello all,

I have a DELL D3000 which is DisplayLink chipset.
It as two display connector (1 HDMI and 1 DVI).

Using last driver, every screen works and I can extend my desktop to these two external monitors.

But I want to use one of these two as primary display.
i.e. I want to have ubuntu side launcher on one of my external display and/or launch fullscreen app on this screen.

It seems that I can only use my laptop panel as main display.

Is this a known bug ?
How do I can make one external monitor as primary screen ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

See point 4 in official Ubuntu help - does it not work for you? If not, please gather logs and attach here.

Hello,

This does not work.
When setting one of my external screen as primary (i.e. having application laucher on it) it does nothing.
The launcher remains on my laptop panel.

Can you point the logs I need to give in order to debug this ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello,

Could you please gather logs from your system following this article:
http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/757047-how-can-i-report-ubuntu-issues-to-displaylink

and upload the zip file to this thread?

Thanks,
Szymon

Hum,

Please consider this "case" as closed.
I installed my laptop using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and now I can correctly select my primary screen.

Seems to be related to Ubuntu 14.04 software.

Thanks a lot !
