Hi, I have installed displaylink driver without problem in my Ubuntu 15.10.
If could be useful, my notebook is dell xps13 9530.
The external monitor doesn't work. In the bottom I have attached my outputs. Why dmesg or lsusb commands don't discover displaylink? Could anyone help me pls?
Moreover the driver seems to be correctly installed, in fact using <systemctl status displaylink.service>

Hi,
From the logs gathered I don't see any sign of the device being connected which may mean:
* hardware fault of docking station/its power adapter/cable
* machine problem (host controller, port fault?)

Could you please try checking the dock with other machine or cable?
And just to verify, could you answer the following questions:
Does any USB device (e.g. mouse) work when connected through the dock?
Does sound/Ethernet function of the dock work?

Regards,
Szymon

Hi,
thank's you for your quick response.
With windows 10, dock and pc works well,
Only USB hub works. The audio/ethernet dosn't work.
I have a patched kernel to solve wifi issues (ref http://askubuntu.com/questions/709794/dell-xps-13-9350-compatibility). However, I have tried with 4.2.0-16 e 4.2.0-30 and it have the same issues.
Any idea?

I will try to test the dock on a different computer and report back.

What command would indicate that the D3100 is recognized by ubuntu properly?

"DisplayLink" name should appear in lsusb output among other devices.

Have you found any solutions with D3000?
I have tried D3100 docking station and it work fine(There are some issues to 4k resolution). I'm waiting to try DA200.
