Hi finally made it smaller, because I think you guys deserve a chance, but really... I need some support get it work, I paid for this, it's normal I am upset, it's your job to make me satisfied of your product so just do it without asking me to please you.

removed by me... it was to raging to be read and tolerated by moderators, anyway, I have a product, I paid for it, I want to use it, it's legit .

Please post a debbuging procedure are anything that will at least make me believe I should keep it instead of dumping it.

EDIT 2
I have installed the driver available at :
It used to work, only in res 1366, but it stopped working when I unplugged it.

Dmesg says the following when I plug/unplugg :

[617151.993678] usb 4-2: USB disconnect, device number 5
[617162.473886] usb 4-2: new SuperSpeed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[617162.490362] usb 4-2: New USB device found, idVendor=17e9, idProduct=ff03
[617162.490370] usb 4-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[617162.490375] usb 4-2: Product: MB168B
[617162.490378] usb 4-2: Manufacturer: DisplayLink
[617162.490382] usb 4-2: SerialNumber: f9lmtf148476

xrandr --listproviders now only doesn't show the screen anymore

root@dev-01:[/home/me]: xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 1
Provider 0: id: 0x46 cap: 0xb, Source Output, Sink Output, Sink Offload crtcs: 3 outputs: 4 associated providers: 0 name:Intel

How can I do ?
Also, is it possible to have it with the resolution I saw when I decided to get this hardware ?

Ive got a dell e6540 with open source ati and intel graphic cards.... laptop...

I have installed the driver as instructed for ubuntu on 15.10 and when pressing the windows/super p to exted the desktop i can only access 1 of the two mb168+ screens. I cant get them both working. This is a very sad day for me. I hate to use windows just for the display......

I hate to use windows just for the display......

Please don't, display link force us to use their hardware only on proprietary OS.
Just don't buy more display link product I guess, until they take the linux community seriously.

Hardware drivers should always be available at first on linux, then after on windows.
Every company that does only for windows should be banned from your eco system.

I can say that I happily solved my problem. I purchased some heavy duty replacement usb cable problems. All is well. I am using ubuntu 15.10, and running cinamin. I had a problem using the FGLX ati drivers, so switch backed to the open drivers and cn use both displays. Can rearrange them. Have not yet had the opportunity to test with an external hdmi/vga connected at the same time as the two usb screens. Id recommend try to find a real good usb cable to save some headaches.
