No audio over HDMI

I am using a lapdock powered by Displaylink and have a monitor connected to the HDMI port. While I can get video on this monitor, I cannot get audio to play on the monitor speakers. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro. My playback devices only indicate that the internal laptop speakers are available. It says USB speakers are not plugged in and there is no HDMI monitor connection detected. I had it working before, but the latest Windows 8.1 updates seem to have broken this. Anyone else having this issue? Any known fixes?

You might wanna post what dock you're using. Dumb question but do you know whether or not that dock can actually output audio from the hdmi port or are you just assuming that it can. I have a dock that has hdmi but doesn't output audio through it.
