Using software on Dell XPS13 7 HDMI

We have a widescreen 1080P Sharp monitor in one of our conference rooms. We also have several users with Dell XPS 13 computers. The only graphics output on an XPS 13 is mini DisplayPort. I can't get a decent display on the Sharp using a Plugable UD-3900 or a Dell DA400 4-in-1 or a passive DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. (7.7M4 SW). The Sharp is fuzzy and flickering and low-color in all resolutions. I don't know if I can really blame this on DisplayLink since the DisplayPort adapter acts the same, but any thoughts?

If the same behaviour is observed on other devices then it looks to be monitor issue. Have you tried to use active DP - HDMI adapter?

The monitor works fine with lots of other computers. It might possibly be this particular computer.

I haven't tried an active DP adapter, that's definitely worth a try.
