I've had this issue since 10041 (http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63714) but now have a work around. See previous post for monitor picture.
If I use the display link manager task bar (see attached image) and select "Normal", the display goes back to normal but in landscape mode.
I then go into display settings and set the monitor to portrait and it works.
If I try to use the display settings to fix things, it is always half on the screen. When ever the display shuts off (power save) and comes back, I have to do this work around.
