Don't believe Displaylink's lies!

Here they claim to have released their drivers as open source
http://www.displaylink.com/news/news/news150509.htm

The truth is they have not released any working drivers.
Do a few google searches about displaylink linux and find everyone struggling with a few howto posts containing hundreds of lines of code and configuration files and hacks to try get it working.

The truth is Displaylink provides working drivers for Windows and Mac and doesn't care one bit about the linux community.

Here you'll find some info from the people doing the real work to try get displaylink products working on linux.

"Well, so DisplayLink released their own LGPL library, half a year after we figured all this stuff out. Nice. But wait, let's have a look at this library. Hmm, the compression is missing. So it's pretty useless compared to the closed-source drivers - it looks like it's targeted mainly for embedded stuff like LCD advertising signs and so on. Moreover, the init sequences are still encrypted - come on, what's the point? I'll decrypt them next week and put them in the Wiki."

Find out the truth about how hard linux users have had to work to get ANY functionality out of displaylink products.
No thanks to Displaylink.
