Display link worked fine until recently (since I updated to 10.6.6)
Now "Detect displays" just get me an error:

"The disk [presumably the adapter] you inserted was not readable by this computer. Ignore Eject"

As far as the MB Pro is concerned, there is no displaylink display?

worked fine a few weeks ago??

Have uninstalled and reinstalled 1.6b 3

I ALWAYS get that message on my screen when booting up (with Leopard and Snow Leopard) for the two Samsung SyncMaster 940ux monitors connected via DisplayLink to my Mac Mini.

But, in my case, I need only to click (in each dialogue) on "Ignore," the message goes away, and everything works fine.

That probably isn't helpful in your situation but I thought you'd like to know that the message itself doesn't necessarily mean that DisplayLink won't function.

Good luck.

I would unplug it, reboot, run the uninstaller and verify that everything DisplayLink* is gone from /System/Library/Extensions. Reboot again, install then 1.6b3 drivers then connect it.

What does /var/log/system.log log when you plug the device in?
