I am trying to get this HIS HMVS-MAC-PC (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815136006) USB to HDMI adapter to work, and nothing I do will get it to. I install the latest software from this site, the services are running, and when I plug in the device, all it says in the device manager is "USB3 HDMI Adapter" with a yellow flag in it. It does not install the drivers for it. Is this an issue with my system, or should I send the card back? Attached is the log bundle for my system.

Hi,

Please try these steps:
- Disconnect the HIS adapter
- Uninstall the DisplayLink Graphics software
- Download and run the DisplayLink Install Cleaner from here:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
- Reinstall R7.2M1 DisplayLink software
- Reconnect the HIS adapter

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,
James

I'm trying to reproduce this issue - so far without success.

Has the adapter ever been successfully installed? If so any clues as to what was different?

Please try (with the device connected)
Open device manager
Right click on the adapter
Select Uninstall
Select Delete the driver software for this device
Select OK
Back in device manager right click on the computer name
Select Scan for hardware changes

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,
James

I have never installed this successfully. I bought it within the last two weeks, but did notice that it seemed to have been opened before. I have probably uninstalled/deleted every way that you can. Even did a system restore to before I tried the first time. Every time it shows up in the device manager as an unrecognized device and labeled "USB3 to HDMI adapter."
