I have a Macbook Pro running 10.6.3-

When my second monitor is connected, my computer hangs when waking from sleep EVERY TIME.

I contacted support 2 weeks ago. No word yet on a fix..?

When will DisplayLink support 10.6.3?? It is unusable with the latest Mac OS update.

I also see my machine fail to wake from sleep.

My proceedure:
Disconnect DisplayLink and Displayport -> DVI attached monitor.
Wait for Mac desktop to refresh / recover to normal (windows on ext. monitors are moved to MacBook Pro display).
Close lid.
Open laptop later. Frequently laptop won't respond and has to be power cycled.

MCV can you please send us the logs created with beta2 right after the issue has happened?

Please use the tool at http://www.displaylink.com/support/ask_question.php

Thank you,
Carlo

Do you want system.log or CrashReporter logs? Or both?

Sorry I gave you the wrong link, the right one is http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269

The Mac debug tool collects all the useful logs (including DisplayLink ones) and gives a snapshot of the HW/SW configuration, which can be very useful when we try to reproduce an issue.

I got some logs from Mike, some useful information there but no direct explanation.

I *think* it's a timing issue as the only machine we can reproduce this issue on is a very first generation MBP when quickly waking it from sleep.
This would explain why only different versions can introduce or resolve this issue.

Anyway, if anyone has more logs about this issue please send them to us. It's important to know if we have one or more different issues.

I created a new user account and now this is happening all over again. Mac goes to sleep, laptop screen and displayport screen come back on but system is frozen. Displaylink screen stays black.

Currently using 10.6.3 with 1.6 beta 1 driver.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro i7, 4 Gig, 10.6.3 Snow Loepard and have the same freeze problem with Display Link 1.6.b. However, I have found the following:

1) If I set the Display Sleep to 1 minute and the Computer Sleep to 1 minute and then wait for the system to sleep, I get the following results:
a) If I immediately wake the system up by pressing space, return, or moving the mouse, everything is fine.
b) If I wait for the Display Link Monitor to go to sleep (which takes about 2 additional minutes) and then try to wake up the system, I can only awaken the computer by pressing keys on the keyboard (mouse movement will not work) and the screen comes back on, but the system is frozen (time stopped and no cursor)
c) If I then wait for the screen to dim (approx 30 seconds) and then hit the mouse or any key, the system is fine.

2) If I set the Computer Sleep to never, the problem seems to disappear.

I hope this sheds some light on the problem.

Still having this problem. When MBP goes to sleep, main laptop screen and displayport monitor come back on but displaylink monitor stays black. System is totally locked and only a reboot has brought it back. This is getting VERY frustrating.

We are happy to inform that there is a new 1.6 Beta 3 driver available for download from here (http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=468).

This release has fixed a GUI freeze issue when resuming from sleep on some systems.
