More monitors = worse performance?

I am using a Targus DVI & HDMI dock, with my Dell Ultrabook 13. I use two Dell displays connected to the DisplayLink dock.

I am just curious if using more monitors will hurt my performance. Specifically, if I should keep the laptop's monitor enabled or disable it. I don't really need it, so if it will improve performance I'd just prefer to turn it off.

Turning off the laptop screen will make little difference to the performance, as that's directly hardware accelerated from the GPU.
