How to set Mirror mode by default.

We are using windows XP and 7. We are looking for how to set automatically Mirror display mode by default the first time a laptop is connected on a displaylink device, without using the displaylink control panel?

we're having the same issue - is there any option to default to mirror mode instead of extended display?
