Is there a DisplayLink product that can sit on an ethernet and plug into a monitor, and function like "AirDisplay" as a wireless monitor.
Use case: mac laptop, wanting extra screens, but displaying apple desktop apps, extending the apple desktop.
"AirDisplay" does the job very well - and will soon have HDMI out - but is a waste of a iDevice.
I've used "Synergy" and had a spare linux machine driving the monitors - this is an interesting experience but it means splitting ones mind between Linux & Mac applications to access the content. (its better than nothing, but a bit of a muddle .. seems like a display link chip would be more efficient)
from a practical standpoint i've already had 2 monitor cables from the apple 'disintegrate' through use (plugging/unplugging. being pulled around)
