I have an Acer Aspire One 522 netbook running Windows 7 Starter. It has a built in full HD HDMI port and a VGA port. I'm using the USB 2.0 UGA Multi-Display Adapter to connect a 24" 1920x1200 monitor, which is fine to run on its own.

But when I try to extend the Windows desktop to a second monitor (1920x1080) connected either through the VGA or HDMI ports on the netbook, in the Screen Resolution control panel there is no option for extending the desktop.

I have also tried using the "Actual Multiple Monitors" software which does have a checkbox for extending the Windows desktop, however it doesn't work.

I have managed to get both monitors to mirror each other, but never get the desktop to extend over both displays.

What is going wrong here? Thanks in advance for any help!

I too have an Acer 1600x900.. doesn't work at all... other monitors will work... Bought 5 monitors, and 5 "DisplayLinks" and they won't work on any new acer.

DisplayLink doesn't support a resolution that great.... It seems any "measurement" greater then 1200 will not work.

We should have been told this... this hardware is simply sub-par for today's monitors.
