'Mid 2009 macbook pro'

Install drivers. reboot.

No login prompt, whether or not I have any display link interfaces plugged in. Correct screen background for login, but no place to type user name and password.

Only solution is to reinstall lion.

Reproduced twice.

It's a known issue for this kind of model, see this thread http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1059. We are waiting a fix from Apple.

I've had this issue as well, and for the benefit of anyone else who finds this thread, the solution is not to re-install Lion but simply use your keyboard to login. You won't be able to see the form you're filling but it should work. If you have to fill in both your username and password, enter your username, then press tab which will take you to the password field, then enter your password, then hit enter.

Still waiting on a fix from Apple... ugh.
