Exclamation Display corruption issues with some applications

If you are experiencing problems with display corruption or flashing, please follow the instructions in this thread to try and solve it.

1. Make sure you have the latest primary graphics driver installed.

DisplayLink use the primary GPU (eg Intel, ATI or NVIDIA graphics card) to enable the 3D effects on Windows Vista and 7. Older versions of the primary graphics driver can show problems on DisplayLink screens, including Blue screens, so make sure you are using the latest primary graphics drivers.

2. Use Windows aero glass mode, rather than basic mode.

It is possible that some application may not draw correctly in Windows basic mode on DisplayLink screens. Examples of applications that may show issues are:
  • Media Players, including youtube
  • Windows picture viewer
  • Internet Explorer 9
  • Powerpoint 2010

To avoid these issues, it is recommended that you use Windows Aero graphics mode, rather than Basic mode.

To set Windows Aero graphics mode:

1. Right click on the Windows 7 desktop and select "Personalization"
2. Choose one of the "Aero Themes", instead of a "Basic and High Contrast Themes".

An Alpha build is now available that should solve rendering problems in basic mode. The forum is here:
