Default Display and Nic not being recognised

Hi All,

I am trying to use the Displaylink Targus docking station with a Dell XPS 13. When this was initially set up it worked fine but after a few hours the connection both external monitors and Nic dropped off.

Since then they are not being recognised by windows, when I plugin the USB3 cable windows does pick up the three USB2 ports but not the display and Nic.

When i run the system compatability check it just says "Device Not Attached"

Any advice on what i can try to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance

Default

That means our chip is not being detected on the USB bus by Windows. This article helps with diagnosing this issue:

Default NIC not recognized-appears disconnected

Hi all.

Similar issue here on my Lenovo USB3.0 dock.
When I use the laptop for a while using WIFI, come back to my desk and plug in the USB dock, all features seem to function EXCEPT the NIC. Win 7 64bit seems to believe that the cable is not plugged in (cable is fine and is plugged in). Media appears to be disconnected.
If I leave the desk, use WIFI, and come back reasonably quickly, wired ethernet still works.. Problem seems to only appear when I am disconected for "long enough". No direct correlation that I can tell with the laptop going to sleep.

Colleague has a same problem on his Lenovo X1Carbon.

This seems to be in line with the other posters.
Any fix in sight?

Thanks
