Default displays not detected with nvidia proprietary drivers

Dear DisplayLink-Team,

my current state of affairs:
Ubuntu 14.04
GeForce GTX 970M
Dell D3100 EUR
displaylink drivers v1.0.138

What works:
+ With Xorg nouveau drivers all displays are detected and working.
- Unfortunately the nouveau drivers don't offer the GPU performance I expect from my system (i.e. almost unusable).

What doesn't work:
With nvidia-352 drivers the performance is as expected but none of the displays are recognized.

My question: is there a workaround I didn't find? Is it a problem of the drivers not being able to communicate? If so are there plans to integrate them more neatly?

Best regards,
Sandro Weber

Hello,

Sadly, due to the nature of the binary NVIDIA/AMD drivers and their non-standard behaviour currently we are unable to help. It's a known limitation.
