How to turn off Display Link
Is it possible to turn off Display Link to save system memory and to create a shortcut on the desktop to turn it on when it is needed? I cannot find where it is installed on my PC running Windows 7. Many thanks.

Display-link only activates if you turn on your separate USB-monitors. if display link is running and you don't have any other monitors running. I would uninstall it.

I have a 2nd monitor which I unplugged and I switched off my ipad. Displaylink is still sitting in the system tray of my PC. Is there any way of getting rid of it and turning it back on when necessary. Sorry to be a pain. |

You can stop the DisplayLinkService in Windows services.

How to turn off display link
Mine does not turn off either. The only display connected is via the HDMI connection to a connection that is not active, shouldn't the displaylink turn off then when the connection is not active? Whether or not a display is connected, or even if the laptop is sleeping, the displaylink never turns off. Is this normal? Really surprised no power button on this device but for the faux power button indicator lol.
When using the displaylink adapter why does my system seem to know there is a display still there, and it breaks HDCP for the discrete graphics card, even though the display/port is not actively in use? Would I really need to turn off the external display that is connected to the displaylink device? Last edited by corig1; 05-24-2012 at 11:58 PM. |
