display acts as if unplugged/plugged back from time to time
Hello,
I tried Plugable USB to HDMI converter and i-tec usb dual display adapter. Both behave the same on my system. When I install the Display link drivers at some point is says .... display can flash while this is running... and it does that 2 times. First time my displays go black and come again and then they go black a second time but this time they stay black. I've tried waiting like over 5 minutes but nothing happens. My displays remain black. At this point I need to do a shut down of my PC from the power button. It takes like 1 minute but I shuts down normally. When the PC starts, everything works fine for some time. Depending on how much I actually use the usb display my problem occurs faster or after a logger time. After I use the display for a while it just freeze the image. It stays frozen for 2 -3 seconds than my PC behaves as if I disconnected the USB display. It only shows my 2 other displays ( connected to the video card). After another 30s - 1 minute the PC behaves as if the usb display is plugged again and everything is working perfectly. Both this events are 100% reproducible. I've tried the latest stable drivers (7.6) from Display Link and also the latest beta 7.7 beta1. Same thing with all. My Pc config: win 8.1 pro eng latest updates CPU i5 secon gen with integrated intel 300 HD video card ( on the CPU) 32 GB ram ddr3. I have 2 monitors connected via VGA and HDMI directly to my video card. I have also added also the logs generated by the Display Link support tool with advanced display link debug info ON. The logs start before my display freezes and end after some time it recovers. I will also add some logs for the installer later. Thank you! Avram |

Hi,
Does this happen if you connect your adapter to a USB 2.0 port on your PC? Thanks, James |

On USB 2.0 it is working although installation is not 100% ok
Hello,
It is working on usb 2.0. I have uninstalled the drivers also used the cleanup utility provided by display link. After this I tried to install the i-tec device on usb 2.0. During the installation same problem appeared as on usb 3.0. I have activated the advanced logging. Positive: It is working!!! Negative: It is not working on usb 3.0. This is OK for a single monitor, but if I will add more it won't work because of the speed of usb 2.0. So let me know if there is anything else that you need from me so you can fix this. Thank you! Hi James,
I think "DEV1_20140910_182321 - some time after installation on usb 2.0" was when I tried to reproduce the problem whit unplugged/plugged but it didn't happen. Thanks, Avram |

Hi,
The guys here think this is an issue with the Etron USB 3.0 HC I would recommend raising a ticket with Gigabyte here: http://www.gigabyte.com/support-down...downloads.aspx Thanks, James |
