Default External displays not working on Dell XPS13 w Ubuntu 16.04 & Targus USB3.0 docking

System: Dell XPS13 L322X
OS: Ubuntu 16.04
Kernel: 4.8.14
DisplayLink: 1.2.65
Video card: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller, i915
Docking station: Targus USB3.0 DV

Two external displays connected, one HDMI, other DVI, none works. xrandr lists a single provider. Logs attached.

Help would be much appreciated.

Default (Partially) solved

I confirm this now works with kernel 4.8.14 and display link driver 1.3.52. However,
- the system is awfully slow when two monitors are connected (DisplayLinkMana takes up to 35% of CPU time
- screen rotation is not yet supported (probably known)

You may find some info to help on my post on getting these docking stations to work.

Thanks for the pointer. Note that I do not have an NVIDIA card, but the renice trick is pretty helpful.

yeah. the lag is still an issue, although not as bad, but the the disappearing mouse pointer problem is gone and thanks to the proprietary drivers the artifacts and tears are gone.
