Default 1.5b3 max resolution

Hello all--

Just installed Snow Leopard on Saturday and am in the process of getting everything up and running again. I installed the 1.5b3 driver (I have 2 Arkview display adapters), and the driver is working for me, but I cannot get the max resolution (1600 x 1200) -- if I select this option, the display goes black, and I have to select something lower. I was able to get the max resolution with the 1.1 series of drivers under 10.5. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there something I can try, or am I stuck waiting for a driver update?

Thanks,

Solomon

Hi rubysolo, I had a similar problem with both Tiger & Leopard. I used the correct DisplayLink drivers but couldn't get the resolution I wanted. I spent extra money and purchased an "EVGA 16" external usb graphics card, which should handle a max resolution of 1920x1080. Others have gotten max rez with this setup, but not me. I also can't get 1600x1200 like you. I don't know if this is a problem with the hardware, software or both. For whatever its worth I'm using an older model 1.1 Intel Mac mini.
I'll be installing Snow Leopard soon but it looks like their is no rush to install DisplayLink!!!!!!!!!
Were you using your described setup with Leopard and could you get 1600x1200??????? If so, that would point to a software problem. I allways thought my problem was the hardware.

Yep, I was able to get 1600 x 1200 (which is the maximum for my monitors anyway) under Leopard + DisplayLink 1.1 through 1.1.3 beta. It was a little dicey -- sometimes I would have to disconnect and reconnect a time or two to get it to fire up. Also, software updates would invariably break something and require a driver reinstall.

Here's hoping DisplayLink 1.5+ under Snow Leopard can get to 1600 x 1200 and be stabilized...

There should not be any differences in the resolution selection between those versions and 1600x1200 resolution.
Try to connect the device to your computer first, select the mode and then connect the monitor.
Furthermore I would ask you to mail support to get instructions on how to send in more information we might need.

Well, connecting the box to the computer first doesn't do anything. I've submitted an issue to DisplayLink support, but have not heard anything back. Any more ideas?

Thanks,

Solomon
