Question "DisplayLink Manager is capturing your screen." message

Hello,

A new icon appeared in the menu bar of my Mac and when I click on it, I get the following message:

"DisplayLink Manager is capturing your screen."

What does this mean exactly and how do I turn it off/disable it?

The notification you describe cannot be disabled.

This thing is making me bonkers!

It flashes on and off repeatedly all day long and is incredibly distracting!

I really don't need to know what's going on in the background. They need to give us an option on how to disable it (or at least how to disable the constant flashing purple part, so I can focus).
