Unhappy No functionality with Targus docking station

Hi,
I have a Targus ACP70USZ docking station connected to a Surface Pro (original Surface). Everything worked great running Windows 8.1.

Currently running Windows 10 build 10061, with DisplayLink Windows 10 Alpha 10 V7.8 drivers.

Drivers install fine, they just don't do anything. No networking, no sound, no display.

DisplayLink Core Software and Graphics software appear in the Program List.

Any ideas?

Could you please use our support tool and attach the logs to the thread so we can try and see what is happening. The tool can be found here:

Hi vhorne,

It looks like the DisplayLink device is not being seen by the system. Are you able to check the connection between the device and the computer? Also is it possible to try another DisplayLink device and/or the same device in a different computer?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

The Targus docking station is seen by the system, at least minimally as a USB device. When plugged into the USB port on the Surface, it appears as "Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub". A mouse that is connected to a USB port on the docking station works fine.

All this hardware worked fine together recently running Windows 8.1. The chances that the hardware became inoperable between then and now is pretty minimal.

Default Targus Docking Station recognized NO DisplayLink Video monitors

I have a Targus USB 3 Docking Station with Power ACP71USZ, a General Dynamics GD8200 Laptop with Core I7 2-Gen, and since Windows 10 10074 my monitors are now BLACK, not recognized anymore.

Through the same docking station I can still operate a USB Mouse and an external USB Keyboard, just NO VIDEO and NO HDMI or other Audio either.

I attached the diagnostic file.

Any advice is massive appreciated!

Hi hermanns,

It looks like the software is installed but not running for some reason. Can you try uninstalling and installing again.

Thanks,
Paul

Smile Resolution!

I just got this working with the latest Beta driver (7.8 Beta 1).

But the trick was to disconnect the power to the docking station, and plug it back in. At that point the driver install wizard recognized the Targus device and additional Targus USB 3.0 Docking Station drivers were installed. It wasn't enough to unplug/plug in the USB connection to the Targus device!

This is with Win 10 build 10122.
