Default Win10 build 00072 displaylink core fails to load

Upgraded to Build 00072 and now the Displaylink driver fails to load the core module. Pulled down the latest Alpha driver and that is when the error occurred. Attaching the .zip file from the logging tool

Hi navionguy,

Could you try rebooting your machine and see if that helps?

Thanks,
Paul

Default Continuing the thread

Rebooted several times. After a reboot, displaylink has a dialog box that indicates a reboot needs to take place for the changes to take effect. This happens every time. Still think that the issue is during the installation of the driver and the error msg received that the displaylink core failed to load. BTW, this all worked just fine on 00052.

everything works perfectly here with 0072 and displaylink driver 7.8.62277.0 on SurfacePro 1.

Had trouble with 0041 (hosed system). 0049 installed as upgrade. 0061 clean install. No problems. Upgraded to 0072 - smooth. Used all day with two systems, home and work.

SP1 is attached to Anker dual-video, ethernet, usb3.0 docks attached to twin dells at office and single LG at home.

If nothing else works, might try fresh a clean install of 0072.

Cheers

Hi navionguy,

Could you please gather a new set of logs? This time please disconnect the DisplayLink device, then turn on Advanced DisplayLink logging in the support tool. Then connect the device and wait for the reboot dialog before pressing Gather Support Information.

Could you then also check in the registry for a MinimalMode value inside HKLM\Software\DisplayLink\Core?

Thanks,
Paul
