DisplayLink technology works with DisplayLink Manager software in tandem with a DisplayLink chip in the dock.
- HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2 uses DisplayLink technology with DL-6950 chip. It also uses another technology for a 3rd display.
- HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 does NOT use DisplayLink technology.
Therefore, the DisplayLink Manager app has no function with your new dock. It will not see or manage it.
If you want to benefit from DisplayLink technology on the Macbook Air, and have DisplayLink Manager, you'd need to switch back to a docking station featuring DisplayLink technology.
