You are right I use a USB to DVI adapter with an attached DVI to VGA adapater and then comes the CRT.

I am saying that, when I plug in the CRT into displaylink I do not have an option to choose anything higher than 60 Hz in the monitor settings - that is not the case when I plug the monitor directly...
