Display Link monitor not reconnecting
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I have a HP Display link attahced to my HP laptop through a HP dock. It has been working fine for weeks, until i docked my laptop today. Since then it has not worked. I have tried different USB ports on dock and laptop, as well as all the steps in the troubleshooting, including reinstalling all drivers. Any thoughts on the issue? Please find logs attached. |
Hello pwatt01,
thank you for contacting us. Can you describe your issue in more details? What do you mean by Dock not working? Is ethernet and audio working? In your logs I can see 2 monitors visible, do you have more externals monitors connected or only one thru HP Dock? I can also see that your AMD GPU drivers are old: 8.951.6.1500 Dated 2012/07/14. Can you please upgrade them and see if issue is still present? BR, Kuba |

Hello Kuba,
Thanks for the reply, and apologies for the late reply. It started working again after a few reboots and re installs. Now however it has stopped working and will not restart. I have 3 monitors - 1 laptop monitor (built in), 1 monitor connected to the my dock via HDMI and 1 monitor connected to the Display Link. The rest of the dock works fine, including Ethernet, the other monitor, charging and when I plug another device into the USB ports. I have updated my graphics drivers as well as the display link drivers, but no luck yet. Updated logs are attahced |
Hello Kuba, have you had a chance to look at this? Or anyone else?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying. According to the logs you have DisplayLink 7.6.56275.0 installed. You can install the latest version from here: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/sla.php?fileid=165 Thanks, James |
Thanks for that. I tried the new drivers and everything was working for a while. Now, however, after undocking or unplugging the display-link will not reconnect. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers but no luck. Tnay thoughts?
