High Sierra - Mouse cursor disappear after wake from blank screen

Updated this morning and every time the screen wakes up from blank screen the mouse cursor is gone.

Only way to get it back with unplugging/plugging in the mouse again.

Running latest High Sierra build that updated this morning on the beta channel and displaylink V4.something beta driver.

Thanks Rudolph

Hi Rudolph,

We haven't seen this in our testing apart one case where the mouse pointer disappeared from the internal screen of a MacBook Pro. But was fine on the DisplayLink screens, strangely. Only happened once.

What you are reporting is unexpected because unplugging and replugging the mouse should make no difference to the cursor visibility. Unless you mean that the mouse stops working and the mouse pointer is still visible, maybe in a corner?

Since it's very reproducible, I'd try to reproduce without DisplayLink screens and using the trackpad if it's a laptop.
You could also check the system log (Apple menu->About this Mac->System Report->Logs->ASL messages) to check for USB issues.

Best regards,
Carlo

Will do some more tests.

Failed to add that I am running a razer mouse with their added software included.

Will try and see if it's maybe their software causing the problems and if the problems go away when I don't install their software.

But it worked fine before the High Sierra update.

Looks like it was the Razer Software that was causing problems.

Uninstalled and problem went away.

Funny thing is I think it worked fine on the pre release of High Sierra with the razer drivers installed.

Many thanks Rudolph for letting us know.

With the new OS, there will be quite a few issues that are only reproducible in corner cases some of the times. Will take some time as usual to find and resolve all of them.
On the bright side Apple has finally allowed hardware accelerated content for our drivers, so I won't complain!

Kind regards,
Carlo
