D3100 on Linux Mint 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04)

I have a Dell XPS 9550 with 4K display, running Linux Mint 18.1.
+ Dell Docking Station D3100

I installed DisplayLink v.1.2.65
And because my displayport monitor was connected the screen blacked out just after the script finished.

- When I rebooted without the displayport connected, OS worked fine.
- When I reconnect the displayport to the D3100 it turned off my 4K display on the XPS and try to use the Dell 27" external monitor wich is max 1440p seems like it does something. but no picture.

Currently running this kernel:
4.4.0-59-generic #80-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 6 17:47:47 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Is there any hope to get it working?

How do I uninstall DisplayLink driver?

Not working D3100 drivers on Mint 18.1

C0d3x: did you tried: http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64793 in order to uninstall Displaylink drivers?

Same issue here, D3100 drivers are not working in this laptop. The screen freezes and everything slows down. I need to reboot and unplug the Displaylink USB cable to remove the drivers and start over again. It's frustrating:
  • Toshiba TECRA Z50-A, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz (64 bits), RAM 8GB, HD SSD 215 GB
  • VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller
  • LinuxMint 18.1 (serena) Cinnamon
  • Kernel: 4.8.0-36-generic (#36~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Sun Feb 5 09:39:57 UTC 2017)
  • Xorg version: 1.18.4 (02 November 2016 10:06:10PM)

I've tried with no success 3 drivers from D3100:
  • 1.2.65 (Oct 7th 2016)
  • 1.2.58 (Sept 19th 2016)
  • 1.1.62 (16th May 2016)
