DisplayLink repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting
 

I have MIMO monitor connected to PC using USB 3.0 port. Latest DisplayLink software is installed. The monitor was working initially after the install. When an external monitor was connected to the PC along with USB monitor, the USB monitor started showing blank screen and the display on external monitor flickering. When I go to device manager, I see that display link driver is repeatedly connecting and disconnecting. I tried to connect to different USB port, different USB cable etc, but the issue is not going away. Any help is appreciated.

The device manager would give you the status of the hardware, not the driver.
If the device disappears from Device Manager, you should hear the Windows USB disconnection sound, which is sign that the hardware disappeared from the bus. Therefore the drivers have nothing to talk to.

This tends to come from a power issue. You have tried another USB port so I would advise trying a Y-cable to draw power from two ports instead of one as I believe the monitor you have does not have a separate power supply.

Thank you Alban. When I tried Y cable on the USB ports that I have been using to connect the monitor, it gave same result. I found that these USB ports are integrated on the motherboard. So, I switched the Y cable to a USB hub that is external to motherboard, and the monitor started working. Your prediction about not having enough power to the monitor from USB port seems to be the root cause of this issue. I do appreciate your guidance with this issue.
