4k with 60 Hz - when?
From what I understand the DL-5500 chip set is limited to 30 Hz for 4k.
I was wondering by when we could expect '4k/60Hz' products to become available for purchase. |
This is correct. We demoed 4K/60Hz in January at CES. However we do not have a date as to when 4K 60Hz products will be available.

Thanks Wim;
I hope it will be available soon. That the 'missing link' for me to go out and buy a 4k display (and of course the adapter). |
i take it it will require a new chip and not simply a firmware update to the current hardware or new driver?

I was ready to create the same thread.
So, is it possible via USB 3.0? Does it have enough bandwidth to generate 4k/60hz? If so, will it allow to enable 4k/60hz->1080p HiDpi/60hz in my late 2014 mac mini, equiped with intel iris 5100? If so...take my money!:eek: Edit: You are talking about this...isn't it? http://www.tweaktown.com/news/42620/...ble/index.html Any new about releasing dates? |
I am curious about this as well. What is the availability of 4k/60Hz via USB3? Thanks.

Some news since!
We can do dual 4Kp60 on USB3 now... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_1wVRwPMc4 For availability of end products, please contact your preferred hardware vendor so they see there is interest as DisplayLink does not manufacture end products. |
