Same build 8102 and same problem

1 Attachment(s)
I have same build 8102 and this is not working.
Last video drivers from amd site. Now is available for Win 8 Dev. Prev.
Last updates from Windows Update.
Wireless USB Maganer only recognize the Wireless USB Transmitter, but the Wireless USB Receiver is not recognized by software, just like before that upload the beta drivers.
The screen flashes and there are not image!!
It's like having installed the windows 7 drivers on Win 8 Dev.Prev like before, there are no difference.

Or we are missing something.
Thanks for support!

Working on Samsung Series 7 Slate with Build 8102.109

Yep, got it working on my Samsung Series 7 Slate. Running Win8 Build 8102.109 with the Toshiba 14" USB Monitor running off of a single 7' USB cable. I installed the software, connected the monitor and after a few screen flashes, it came right up. The displaylink tray applet took a few minutes before it was accessible but after a Windows prompt came up saying new hardware was detected and installed, i could use the displaylink tray applet. Thanks for the update!

Hi

The DisplayLink Win 8 drivers are for the video only. The wireless USB drivers and technology is not provided by DisplayLink. Looking at the logs, it looks like no device has been detected in device manager, which probably means the wireless USB drivers are not properly working on Win 8.

I would check these drivers and make sure you can see a device under "USB display adapters" in device manager. Until this happens, the adapter will not work.

This looks more strange as from the logs it looks to me like everything works and the video part of the dock is correctly detected in device manager and works.

Are you sure the device is not appearing in device manager? Are there any other error messages you are getting?

Thanks

Wim

Hi Alessio,

I've been unable to reproduce the issue you describe at DisplayLink with a similar laptop and the same dock.

Can you please provide me with the folllowing information:

Does this happen on all USB ports on your laptop?
Did the dock work as expected under Windows 7?
Do you have ethernet, audio devices or any other USB devices connected to the dock when the issue occurs?
Do you have any other USB devices connected to the laptop when the issue occurs?

Thanks,
James

1) Yes it does
2) Yes, I've the dual boot and it works on Windows 7
3) Yes, the docking has 4 USB ports (working), one ethernet 10/100 (working) and an audio in/out (working). The only thing that could be is that the video output has one standard 15pin video out and one DVI. I've connected the 15pin (I don't have a DVI monitor to test).
4) The only devices connected and used at the moment are a keyboard and a mouse (USB) but I've tried to connect the docking without.

Thanks for the effort,

Alessio

Hi Alessio,

Can you please provide me with the folllowing information:

Is the dock connected directly to the laptop? Or via an external hub?
Did you perform a clean install of the developer preview or was it an upgrade?
Can you try disconnecting the dock, uninstalling the DisplayLink software and then run the cleaner tool (http://displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297) before reinstalling and then reconnecting the dock?

Please see http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=896 for some other suggestions for things to try when your device doesn't come up.

If this doesn't help let me know.

Thanks,
James

Hi James,
1) The docking is directly connected to the laptop
2) Win 8 has been done via clean installation (I'm not even sure you could install it in any other way)
3) Done all that, in that precise order, but nothing changed. Following the "Debugging issues ...", in my registry the only VID_17E that I find are these:
Code:

USB\VID_17E9&PID_01D4&REV_0003
USB\VID_17E9&PID_01D4

Thank you very much,

Alessio
